Before You Ride
Give yourself plenty of space, wear proper protection and focus on control before speed.

Find flat, open ground away from traffic, pedestrians, curbs and other obstacles.

A helmet, wrist guards and knee protection are strongly recommended while you learn.

Your first goal is to understand how the wheel responds—not to ride fast or far.

Keep your knees soft and your upper body relaxed so you can make small balance corrections more easily.

One habit to build early
Keep your eyes up and look where you want to go. Staring down at the wheel or your feet can make balancing and steering harder.
Your First Practice Session
Use these as flexible practice blocks, not deadlines. Move on when each movement starts to feel repeatable and controlled.

Start with one foot on the pedal. Rock the wheel gently forward and back, then trace small circles to learn how it responds.

Push off gently with one foot and practice short glides until the wheel begins to feel predictable beneath you.

Use a wall, rail or spotter for light support. Keep your knees soft, your eyes up and your movements smooth.

Practice mounting, riding straight, slowing down, stopping and making wide, gentle turns—at your own pace.
Keep Practicing
Take your time. Practice in a clear, open space and repeat the basics until starting, stopping and turning feel calm and controlled.
